How to Leash/Lead Train an English Bulldog Puppy

More and more people teach their dogs how to be leaders in a pack while walking them in the park. Walking your own English bulldog in a particular style is extremely important if you want to teach him how to be the pack leader especially if he is a bulldog because most people know that they are a very stubborn breed. If you are curios about how a particular pack of wolves act in the wild you will notice many similarities. No matter in what region the pack is located or how many wolves there are in those packs you will always notice the fact that its leader decides where or when they should go, and all the wolves will follow him in any direction. You can also notice that the wolves always walk behind and never in front of the leader because it is not permitted to do so. That is why, when walking your own bulldog he should never walk in front of you, but behind you or at your side.

You could say that this is an extremely important lesson for your dog and for any dog, even when you try to make your bulldog a protector or perhaps a guardian. Also, it is important that the dog listens to you and he does not act on its own. When they watch you and the language of your body, the must be calm and relaxed to be able to respond in all situations. They have to see that you are relaxed and calm and that way they can understand from your body language that there is no danger and they will also stay relaxed.

In case you become frightened or perhaps tense they will notice that and they will be on the look out and they will respond to that and attack trying to protect you. You have to create a bond between you and the dog and by following simple tips you can strengthen that bond. This means that if they is no threat the dog will not attack and you will not be afraid that it will bite someone because he realizes from your body language that you are in no danger and he must stay calm and relaxed, just the way you are.

On the other hand, if your body language changes your dog will notice that and he will act accordingly. Bulldogs are a very stubborn breed and are compared to the wolves in a pack, as we mentioned before, and that is why it is important that they have a leader and you must be the leader. Otherwise, he can get confused and he will not know what to do or how to act in different situations and he can become unsure of his actions. Being a very powerful race, some mistakes could be fatal and you do not want that on your head. You must always prepare him for new situations and new ways to behave especially when there are people around.
